RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended, not required, that HOAs use the following guidelines. HOAs can make their selections based on their own due diligence and are fully responsible for their own decisions.

Landscape Architecture Firms –
- There must be a landscape architect at the firm registered with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration that is signing off on the design/plan.
- The firm itself must be registered with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration.
- Provide a firm bio and three project examples that illustrate their work.
- Provide resumes of staff that will be working on the HOA transformation projects.

Landscape Design/Build Firms –
- The firm must be registered with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
- Provide a firm bio and three project examples that illustrate their work.
- Provide resumes of staff that will be working on the HOA transformation projects.
- Landscape Maintenance Firms –
- The firm must be registered with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
- Provide a firm bio and three project examples that illustrate their work.
- All staff who will be maintaining landscapes for HOAs that are participating in the HOA Landscape Transformation Program must have earned their Smartscape Certificates.
